Shock as Beloved South African DJ Shot Dead in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A renowned South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country grappling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the 40-year-old entertainer was approached by three individuals, with one shot at him before fleeing on foot.

Law enforcement revealed that Stock was ambushed as he was leaving a building in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.
He had spent several hours at the site supervising the installation of safety equipment, which had been illegally inhabited by squatters, as per local media.
"Authorities believe the deceased was confronted by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot," a police statement stated.
Security camera video showed a man with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what looked like a guard's attire firing shots on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ tried to run away after he was hit but collapsed a short distance away.
Officials noted that Stock had an gun that was not fired and nothing was taken during the incident.
Crucial forensic evidence, like bullet casings, were discovered at the location.

Authorities have requested eyewitnesses who may have seen the suspects to come forward.
"Our information indicates they traveled on foot after the attack, and officers have been attempting to locate them to establish their whereabouts," added an official.
